Large foreclosure/bankruptcy practice increases business effectively with Perfect Practice Case Management software.
Sirote & Permutt, P.C. (“Sirote”) is a 100-attorney law firm with offices in Birmingham, Huntsville, Madison, and Mobile. Alabama. While it is a full service law firm with active strong practices in such areas as Estate Planning, M & A, Tax, General Corporate.. Litigation, Intellectual Property, Health Care and Employee Benefits, it also has a very active and rapidly expanding Creditor/Default Services Practice Group. This group includes Foreclosure, Title Insurance, Bankruptcy, Eviction and REO practices.
In order to meet the changing demands of their practice, researching a software solution was vital. Although the attorneys in these areas of practice knew they had the opportunity to expand their client base, they also knew that if they did not quickly invest in the technology and resources to support these high volume, high speed, high quality control practices, then any ideas of expanding would be definitely thwarted,” says Steve Meadows, the firm’s CFO.
The first essential ingredient was to rapidly install a case management, document generation, work- flow system. At that time, the practices depended on “systems” and processes that had grown from small beginnings and, as such, were effectively built around manual files and very creative and multiple uses of Word Perfect software, Word Perfect was used to prepare numerous letters, maintain lists, prepare internal status reports and even to do hills and keep track of accounts receivable. However, with the size of operations that these practices had reached, and anticipated achieving in the future, using these processes was no longer tenable. Something had to happen.
The most critically affected group was the Foreclosure practice. Foreclosure uses a highly complex set of processes and procedures, is high volume, requires high speed of response to clients and great attention to detail. Led by the two Foreclosure attorneys, various case management software vendors were contacted, their software reviewed, their references checked and a decision was made. ‘By far the most preferred choice was Perfect Practice,” says Steve. Not only was the flexible design of their software attractive, but also their significant experience in the foreclosure practice area, their willingness to listen, understand and translate ideas, their intense focus on training and, most importantly. a structured, participative, team-based approach to customizing, implementing, and inevitably tweaking the software to make it work, was most impressive.
Perfect Practice case management was first installed early this year. Since that time, business has tripled. Sirote is convinced that if they had not installed Perfect Practice this growth would not have been able to happen. Furthermore, ADC Legal Systems continue to he focused on Sirote; enhancing, troubleshooting, and training — always in a responsive, cost-efficient manner
So what’s next? A ready Perfect Practice case management has been expanded to the Title Insurance Practice Group and will soon he installed in the RF.O group, with Bankruptcy and Eviction hopefully to follow in early 2002.
The bottom line is that Perfect Practice is now an integral part of the culture at Sirote,
In the end, what really is impressive is the adaptability of Perfect Practice to the many different lines of business in operation at Sirote. The ability to build on the knowledge of the system gained by the initial team is truly a huge advantage. |
